THAT'S WHAT SHE READ - SUNDAY RUNDOWN

I've been back at work this week so the reading thing has been a bit hit and miss again. Still, I am managing to read a bit each night; the problem is that I'm reading it at a time when I really should be in bed. What I was doing really well at this week was not buying books. In fact, it wasn't until I remembered today that I hadn't bought any that I took out my wallet. I started this weekly rundown to shame me into reading more books, which it obviously is doing. What I didn't account for was the need to buy something new every week to have something to talk about. I need to tell myself that it's okay to have a week without getting something new. My TBR pile doesn't need to get any fucking bigger right now.

Recently Finished
  • Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Stayed up late the night before a course so I could finish this one. I decided I had a lot more to say than a simple summary here so will be talking about it in more detail on Tuesday. That'll be something to look forward to.

Currently Reading
  • The Heart Goes Last by Margaret Atwood (Kindle edition)
I tried to start reading The Chimes by Anna Smaill on the way to my course last week but didn't really get into it. Gave up after a few pages because I couldn't really get to grips with the new world Smaill had created. So I decided to read this. It's been on my TBR for a while and I always love Atwood. This is so good and I'm getting through it so quickly. Can't wait to carry on.

Recently Purchased
  • Jaws by Peter Benchley
We all know the story of Jaws, right? I'm not so sure. Benchley's novel is full of trash that the film doesn't go into. I'm always happy to read a bit of trash every now and then. It's how The Second Lady became one of my favourite books.
  • X-Men: Years of Future Past by Marguerite Bennett and Mike Norton
When I was still wasting a shit load money every week buying physical comic books I started getting this series. Then I decided the cost of postage wasn't justified so stopped. Decided it was time to finish the story. It's a Battleword version of the much-loved Days of Future Past storyline.

Recently Watched
  • Leap Year
Am so dedicated to my readers that I willingly watched this trash for my TBT last week. Read all about it here
